The NUS Alumni Network Manila is now inviting expressions of interest for its 2027–2028 Executive Committee (ExCo). Interested NUS alumni may submit their application or before 15 September 2026.
Serving NUS Manila is an opportunity to give back, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen the NUS community in the Philippines. Volunteers help organize alumni activities, welcome students and returning graduates, support mentorship and professional connections, and create opportunities for collaboration and community service.
All verified NUS alumni are welcome to express interest. Because most in-person activities are held in Metro Manila, applicants should preferably be based within or near Metro Manila or be able to participate regularly in Manila-based activities.
We hope to form a diverse Exco representing different NUS schools, graduation years, professions, industries, and career stages.
The Executive Committee comprises three to five verified NUS alumni:
Chairperson: Leads the Network and serves as the primary liaison with the NUS Office of Alumni Relations (OAR).
Vice-Chairperson: Supports the Chairperson and assumes leadership when necessary.
Secretary: Manages meeting records, membership information, and reports to OAR.
Treasurer: Oversees finances and coordinates reimbursements and funding matters.
NUS Manila generally aims to hold a midyear event and a year-end gathering. Ad hoc activities may also be organized depending on the Exco’s plans and availability and on relevant NUS or Singapore events and celebrations, such as the NUS 120th anniversary activities in 2025.
Other activities may include talks, networking sessions, student send-offs, welcome gatherings for returning graduates, mentorship programmes, reunions, and community-service initiatives.
Some event funding may be available from OAR, subject to prior approval, applicable requirements, and the availability of funds. Funding is not automatic or guaranteed.
OAR may also support eligible activities through publicity, institutional connections, and other forms of assistance. Event plans and funding requests must be coordinated and submitted to OAR in advance.
The incoming Exco will serve for the 2027–2028 term. Members should be prepared to attend planning meetings, organize and support activities, communicate with OAR, and carry out the responsibilities of their positions.
All positions are voluntary and unpaid. Members are expected to be dependable, work collaboratively, protect confidential and personal information, and represent NUS respectfully and professionally. OAR may issue appointment letters and digital credentials to formally appointed Exco members.
Yes. Alumni may volunteer for individual events or assist with communications, membership engagement, mentorship, partnerships, student activities, community service, and other projects.
You may contribute your time, professional expertise, ideas, or connections without taking on a formal leadership position.
Interested NUS alumni may submit their application or before 15 September 2026 through our online form (www.nusmanila.org/nominate)
Shortlisted alumni may be contacted for a brief discussion. Final ExCo appointments will be made in coordination with the NUS Office of Alumni Relations.
