The NUS Alumni Network Manila was honored to participate in the Chinese New Year Celebration Dinner hosted by the Singapore Philippines Association Inc. (SPA) on February 11, 2025, at Golden Bay Seafood Restaurant, Pasay City. The event was led by SPA President Andrew Koh and graced by Her Excellency Constance See, Singapore Ambassador to the Philippines. It brought together members of the Singaporean community in the Philippines to celebrate the festive occasion while fostering friendship and cultural exchange.
Our attendance was made possible through the kind invitation of Ho Sun Yee (Business '91), who facilitated our connection with SPA Inc. Established in 1990, SPA has been instrumental in strengthening ties between Singaporeans and other foreign nationals in the Philippines.
The program featured both the Philippine and Singapore national anthems, a solemn prayer, a traditional lion dance, and a sumptuous Chinese lauriat. Attendees also enjoyed raffle prizes and giveaways generously sponsored by Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice of Singapore, Tao Yuan Restaurant, Hana Shampoo, and Champion Detergent.
In his closing remarks, President Andrew Koh warmly welcomed the first-time presence of the NUS Manila chapter and expressed his enthusiasm for developing a strong relationship between SPA and NUS Manila.
The NUS Alumni Network Manila was represented by:
Dr. Venus Oliva Cloma-Rosales (Public Health '13)
Patricia V. Yambing (Business '15)
Atty. Jose Maria Buenagua (Law '21)
Richard Tan (Policy '13)
Nestor Precioso (Science '06)
Lee Vivas (Business '13)
We look forward to more opportunities to connect, collaborate, and engage with fellow alumni and the Singaporean community in the Philippines!
